Michael Stewart, May 22 2022, 2pm

Michael Stewart at the organ console of Wellington Cathedral of St. Paul

The first concert of 2022 features Michael Stewart, Director of Music at St Paul’s Cathedral Wellington. Michael is also Music Director of the Tudor Consort and deputy Music Director of the National Youth Choir.

A feature of his programme will be a celebration of César Franck whose 200th birth anniversary is this year. His longest work, the Grande Pièce Symphonique, will give the town hall organ a real workout.

For the rest, Michael has chosen a good mix of Bach, Salve Regina by Olivier Latry, Couperin and his own arrangement of a Radiohead hit!

Please note that while this Sunday afternoon concert is free and open to the public, bookings and tickets will be required. Tickets for this concert are available from Moshtix from April 19.

If you cannot attend in person, you can watch the LIVESTREAM.

You can support the Town Hall Organ Trust in bringing you free concerts with a donation. There will be collection buckets as you exit the Great Hall for notes and coins, or you can deposit a donation into the Auckland Town Hall Organ Trust account:
