Tours of the Town Hall Organ

From time to time, the Trust arranges personalised and  detailed tours of the organ for up to six people.

When we can find a day on which the hall is available and we can run these tours, we advise our waiting list. Please let us know if you are interested in an up close tour of the Auckland Town Hall Organ.

Tours take about an hour and include orientation at the console, a tour inside all three levels of the organ and an opportunity to play it, if conditions permit.

Each tour is limited to six people for safety and space reasons.  The organ is on three levels requiring stairways and narrow passages to be negotiated, so we regret that children under eight and people with mobility, claustrophobia or vertigo issues cannot be accommodated.

To help with the cost of tours, the Trust suggests a donation of $25 per person, payable at the beginning of a tour.  Note that donations to the Town Hall Organ Trust are tax deductible and a receipt will be given on request.

If you are interested in joining a tour when next planned, please ask to be added to the waiting list by sending an email to our tours coordinator, matt.pestle@afinosystems.com.  Invitations are normally sent out to all on the waiting list several weeks before the event.

Due to the frequent unavailability of the Town Hall,
we regret that we cannot accommodate casual visitors.
