Dunedin City Organist, David Burchell returns to the Auckland Town Hall to round off the tenth anniversary of its famous Klais organ with a mix of serious fare and lighter favourites. A graduate of Oxford University, David enjoys a busy life as Musical Director of Dunedin City Choir, conductor and performer with the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra, and Otago University organist. He works as a choir trainer, conducts the Dunedin Youth Orchestra and St Kilda Brass as well as being the organist at two city churches. A particular interest is Dunedin’s ‘The Little Box of Operas’, a company specialising in chamber opera. David is also an experienced organ builder and has just restored a 20-stop Telford and Telford organ for his home music room.
